The Biggesee-Listersee Nature Experience Area offers perfect infrastructure for cyclists. In addition to the Sauerland’s characteristic rolling landscape of hills, forests, and valleys, secluded roads and challenging trails provide ideal conditions.

The Lakes Route (one of the two variants of the Bigge-Lister Cycling Loop) runs for just under 50 km, mostly along the shores of the lakes. The route is equipped with information signs to help you keep track of your current location. Along the way, numerous rest stops and picnic areas invite you to take a break.

From the start of the GPX track—the “Waldenburger Bucht” parking lot (though, of course, you can begin this loop tour from any location) near Attendorn—you’ll cycle southward, always staying close to Biggesee. During the second half of the tour, you’ll soon reach the Lister Dam. This dam separates the waters of the Bigge and Listertalsperre from each other. The route continues around Listersee and back around Biggesee until you finally reach the Bigge Dam.

Swimming spots, the “BiggeBlick” lookout point, or combining the ride with a boat tour make for a varied outing for the whole family.
